New Construction
The first phase of the new construction consists of an underground parking garage, with above it a four-story treatment center on the park side, housing an emergency department, general practitioner’s office, intervention center, and surgical department. On the forest side, there is a five-story nursing building for complex care, with two V-shaped nursing units per floor that are connected to the atrium side. In addition to standard nursing units, specialized units are included for the ICU, maternity and delivery department, and emergency admissions. The nursing units are oriented towards the green Alkmaarderhout, surrounded by nature.
Starting from the first phase, the entire hospital can be renewed through a phased process of demolishing and building anew the existing hospital in several steps.
