The Rijnstate in Elst will soon be a building where a number of these developments come together. The compact 13,000 m2 outpatient “health hub” is centrally located in Elst along the railway and a main road. The versatile, easily accessible building is situated as if in the middle of the neighborhood and is also open to residents and travelers. With the addition of a restaurant and a supermarket, you can easily walk in. In addition to providing care, the building also offers space for social interaction, information, prevention, and education for everyone. This is particularly beneficial because there is a wealth of knowledge available.
A green welcome
A green environment is being created in and around Rijnstate Elst, with fruit trees as a nod to the fruit cultivation in the region. By giving greenery an important role in the design, the building and the square don’t feel like a typical healthcare environment. By allowing visitors to ‘check in’ at home, Rijnstate already knows that you are coming, and the barrier opens for you. You are recognized at the check-in kiosk, so you don’t have to wait long. But if you arrive early to have a cup of coffee or if you have a One Stop Shop appointment, you can wait in a green, light-filled atrium.
Naturally Sustainable
The new Rijnstate in Elst is naturally sustainable. It achieves sustainability not only through technology and utilizing natural resources but also through clever design features such as rotating panels in the facade, natural ventilation, regionally sourced and demountable materials, and a high degree of future flexibility ingrained in its DNA.
