Clear structure in the green environment
We are building a new gym, two new residential buildings and a new building for practical education at the campus. We’re achieving a clear structure by smartly implanting the buildings. Recognisable building shapes – the saw-tooth roofs of the workshops, the big square building that is the gym and the smaller scale residential buildings – make for clear boundaries between the facilities. These facilities are situated around a central open square, the heart of the campus which offers space for relaxation as well as exercise. Greenery runs around and between the buildings, inviting exercise.

Room for experience
Room for experience stimulates thoughts and feelings for these young persons, while simultaneously reducing stress. This positive influence of the environment is also noticeably for the staff members. Just like the youths, the residents of de Hutten should be able to move, feel, smell and see. We’re creating and shaping spaces that are inviting, with their own feel. Everywhere you go you can look at the environment, which change in colour and smell along with the seasons.

Glancing into the future
The historical buildings are revitalised and shape the administrative heart of the campus. A new pavilion at the street side welcomes visitors, family members and external care givers to a campus that has clearly set its sights to the future.
